Excellent Question! Sparks Pop Warner has been serving the Sparks area for over 40 years. Other leagues have come and gone over the years, but Pop Warner has stayed Strong!


Pop Warner is the only National Football program that requires scholastic eligibility to play. They also recognized the academic achievements of it's athletes thru the Pop Warner Little Scholars Program.

Sparks Pop Warner is the governing body for football and cheer in the Sparks  area. You will need to find the Local Association in your area and contact them directly.

Costs vary by Association but generally range in the $150-$225 area depending on when you sign up.

This varies a bit by association but in general, you will need to provide compression shorts (girdle) and cleats. All equipment is generally provided thru the local association.

We prefer that Equipment is  issued from Sparks Pop Warner, however we do allow the use of your own equipment provided that it is inspected by the Equipment Manager first.

Head coaches are selected by the board of directors of the local association in your areas. Head coaches then select there own coaching staff's. All volunteers are required to pass the background check process prior to being allowed on the field.

Although this does vary by association, in general yes there is. Fundraising is what keeps our registration rates low. Fundraising assists in covering costs for equipment, uniforms, and facilities.  This funding will also enable us to reward scholarships for registration fees to youth who would not be able to participate otherwise.
